Stories
We measure our success through impact and the actual lives changed. These stories are a testament to the difference that communities can make when we come together to create lasting change.
Salute to Service
SEL Essentials
Using the GRIND framework and excerpts from "The Book of Barz" by KaVonte Carthron, a Certified Trauma Support Specialist and Amazon #1 Bestselling Author who addresses Social and Emotional Learning (SEL); students are given the tools necessary to process trauma and navigate our quick-changing world by incorporating education and hip-hop culture.
A Success Story
Darrell Fair
Creative A Fair is the brainchild of graphic designer and Chicago native Darrell Fair that came after mentorship
from KaVonte Carthron, the founder of GodWork Foundation. Being a child of a single parent household, his father was killed when Darrell was just two years old, gave Darrell the initiative to transcend the statistics of the Chicago streets to create a dream. The dream is alive
and also a thriving graphic design business.
Salute to Service
Computer Basics
Recently, our organization was nominated by Joliet Township High School for our service with the Joliet Region Interfaith Education Council for a “Salute to Service Partnership”. In such a short time we were able to increase computer proficiency, team building, and 21st Century skill sets by sponsoring 10 young people between the ages of 12 – 18 through our Computer Basics program.
